Since setting up five years ago here at Werndolau Farm, Organics To Go has expanded rapidly and:

• sells over half a million pounds of produce a year
• supplies around 2,000 households with produce
• supplies several other box schemes and wholesale customers
• has built trusting relationships with eight regional growers who supply the company up to twice a week
• grows on around 20 acres of converted organic land here on the farm
• has planted a two-acre orchard and erected seven large polytunnels

When the farm was bought it employed one person. Now the enterprise employs in total around 30 part or full time people and over 40 people in the summer season. As such it provides a valuable ethical/ecological employment opportunity in Carmarthenshire, which has only a handful of organic farms or ecological businesses.

Organics To Go aims to continue to grow in a gradual and sustainable way. This will provide more permanent employment and a more secure long-term market for organic growing in west Wales. It also aims to support more varied ecological and sustainable activities for people living a low consumer community lifestyle here on the farm.
